Tour itinerary

📅 Day 1: Arrival – Huaca Rajada & Royal Tombs Museum

Arrival in Chiclayo with a warm welcome and transfer from the airport or bus station to begin your Chiclayo highlights tour.

Start with a visit to Huaca Rajada (Sipán), the exact place where the tomb of the Lord of Sipán was discovered intact. Walking through the site, you’ll see the original excavation area and learn how this discovery revealed an extraordinary collection of gold, silver and ceremonial objects. Your guide will explain the burial rituals and the importance of this ruler, offering a deeper understanding of the power and sophistication of the Moche civilization.

Continue to the Royal Tombs of Sipán Museum, one of the most important museums in South America. Its design recreates a Moche pyramid, and inside you’ll follow a carefully curated route that mirrors the original excavation. You will see impressive gold ornaments, jewelry and funerary offerings, as well as a full reconstruction of the tomb, allowing you to visualize how the burial was originally arranged and the symbolic meaning behind each element.

After the visits, transfer to your hotel for check-in and overnight in Chiclayo.

📅 Day 2: Sicán Museum – Batán Grande – Túcume – Departure

Today we explore the rich Lambayeque culture starting with the Sicán National Museum, where you will learn about the Sicán civilization, renowned for its extraordinary metallurgical mastery. Inside the museum, you’ll discover finely crafted gold masks, ceremonial objects and funerary offerings that reveal the sophistication, beliefs and social hierarchy of this powerful pre-Inca culture.

Continue to Batán Grande, a historic area within the Sicán National Sanctuary. This vast archaeological landscape, surrounded by dry forest, was once the political and religious center of the Sicán culture. Walking through the site, you’ll see ancient pyramids partially hidden by nature and gain a deeper understanding of the rise and decline of this civilization, followed by a traditional local lunch.

In the afternoon, visit Túcume, also known as the “Valley of the Pyramids,” featuring 26 adobe temples and pyramids set within a striking desert landscape. As you explore the site and its viewpoints, you’ll appreciate the scale and importance of this complex, as well as its connection to the Lambayeque culture. The visit also includes the on-site museum, where artifacts discovered during archaeological research provide valuable context to the history of the site.

Transfer to the airport or bus station for departure.
