The tour begins at the Plaza Mayor of Trujillo, the historic heart of the city, founded in 1535 by the Spanish conqueror Francisco Pizarro. Here your guide will explain the history and architectural evolution of the city while you admire the elegant colonial buildings and colorful facades that surround the square.

Next, you will visit one of the traditional colonial mansions of Trujillo (subject to availability). These beautiful houses reflect the prosperity of the city during the colonial period and feature impressive courtyards, balconies, and decorative details.

The tour continues along one of the pedestrian streets of the historic center, where you can enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of Trujillo while learning more about the city’s cultural heritage.

Afterward, you will visit the UNT Archaeology Museum, one of the most important museums in northern Peru. The museum presents a fascinating exhibition of the main cultures that developed on the northern coast, including the Moche, Chimú, and other pre-Hispanic civilizations, offering visitors an excellent introduction to the ancient history of the region.

The tour begins in the morning with a visit to the impressive Huacas del Sol y la Luna archaeological complex. Here you will explore the ceremonial temple of Huaca de la Luna, famous for its well-preserved polychrome murals and its important role in the rituals of the Moche civilization. You will also visit the modern site museum, where remarkable discoveries help explain the history, religion, and daily life of this ancient culture

After the visit, we continue to the charming fishing village of Huanchaco. This historic coastal town is known for its beautiful beach and for the traditional reed boats called caballitos de totora, which local fishermen have used for centuries. Here you will have free time to enjoy lunch at a seaside restaurant and take in the relaxed atmosphere of the Pacific coast.

In the afternoon, the tour continues to Chan Chan, the largest adobe city in the Americas and the capital of the Chimú Kingdom. You will visit the Nik An Palace, the best-preserved sector of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, where intricate relief walls and ceremonial courtyards reveal the sophistication of this powerful pre-Inca civilization

📅 Day 2: El Brujo Archaeological Complex

Today we head north to explore the fascinating El Brujo Archaeological Complex, one of the most important sites on the northern coast.

Discover the tomb of the Lady of Cao, one of the most powerful female rulers of ancient Peru, and explore beautifully preserved murals and ceremonial spaces.

This day offers a deeper understanding of Moche culture and its mysteries.
